SPEAKER_02

Welcome to Coffee and Cleavage.

SPEAKER_00

Hello, guys.

SPEAKER_02

I'm Lenny.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm Claudia.

SPEAKER_02

Cheers!

SPEAKER_00

Wow. What an episode we have today.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. This is going to be um, we're about to talk to one of the most controversial figures in pop culture.

SPEAKER_00

Hands down. Hands down.

SPEAKER_02

Trust me, you don't want to miss this. But first, before we get into all that, we need to show our sponsor some love.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, we need to give our very favorite plastic surgeon, Dr. Gerald Menitti, some love. He is an official coffee and cleavage sponsor. He is a board-certified plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills. And if you're looking for literally anything, guys and girls, Botox, fillers, disports, CO2, liposuction, breast augmentation, he does it all. He does it all. So here's a little love to Dr. Gerald Manitti. You could check him out. Cheers to Dr. Gerald. Cheers. You could check him out on Instagram at Dr. Gerald Manitti. Or if you want to see his results page, which I personally think is more impressive than anything, Dr. Maniti Results is also on Instagram. So make sure you guys check him out. And we we need a little maniti trip next time we're in LA. Absolutely. These lines. That's why I have bangs. Yeah. Because you know, I have to hide the forehead.

SPEAKER_02

All right. Okay, so today is one of those days where we really don't know what's gonna happen. We do not. We don't. You know, you've heard of him. Um, you've probably argued about him.

SPEAKER_00

I definitely have because I think he's innocent. Yeah, I do too. We need to get him out of jail, honestly. ASAP.

SPEAKER_02

We do. Um we haven't even announced who this is yet, but I'm sure those of you listening might be picking up of who this is.

SPEAKER_00

Maybe by our shirts, by our tiger shirts.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, this gifted away.

SPEAKER_00

Calling from jail. We have Mr. Joe Exotic. We are so excited. We have been waiting for this interview for so long, and I know you guys are gonna love it too. We have some great questions for Joe, and we know he's not one to hold back, so this is gonna be good. It's gonna be good.

SPEAKER_03

This call is from Joe. This call will be recorded and subject to monitoring at any time. So accept this call, press five. To block this call, and all he may begin speaking now.

SPEAKER_00

Hello, Joe.

unknown

Hey, girlfriend, what are you doing?

SPEAKER_00

How are you? You know, I'm just talking to you, sir. How are you?

unknown

I'm in prison.

SPEAKER_00

I know you're in prison. We we gotta get you out of there, sir. I'm so sick of this. I know. We need to get you out of there, Joe.

SPEAKER_02

Joe, we're so happy to have you on our podcast.

unknown

I'm excited to be there finally.

SPEAKER_00

I know. You know what? When you when you get out, can we have like an in-person interview too, please?

SPEAKER_04

When when I get out, we're going to have a party.

SPEAKER_00

Hell yeah. Well, so so finally, and everybody, hell yeah. We're gonna live it up. We're gonna live it up. I'll I'll throw the party for you. How's that sound? Okay, you have my word. Okay, so or the cameras are rolling, Joe, and obviously I don't feel like you need any kind of introduction. And you know what? I have to say thank you on behalf of me and the rest of the world. You got us through COVID.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you did.

SPEAKER_04

You know, everybody says that, but why can't I get the world to help get me out of here?

SPEAKER_00

You know, that's that's that's why we're doing this podcast because we we need to do that for you. And you know what's crazy? It's crazy because I I've, you know, obviously Tiger King was the number one show in the world at the time, and you've never even seen the show, right?

unknown

Well, I saw I finally saw it a year and a half ago.

SPEAKER_00

You did, okay. Wow. Okay. What did you think about it? Yeah, what'd you think?

SPEAKER_04

It was bullshit.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It was it was it was made to be an agenda. See, a lot of people don't realize that I didn't film for Tiger King.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I was in jail two years before Tiger King was made. They took everything you saw of me came off of my YouTube channel.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And they and they did that without permission. Okay, they didn't pay me for it or nothing. But to to sit and listen to all those people that I gave a home, a job to, and I paid very good wages to, I'll talk shit. I was so disappointed.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So I know so you were obviously filming for your own documentary, or what was what was the footage you were using? What was that w don't and go for?

SPEAKER_04

I had a contract with Good Clean Fun out of LA. Uh and we were doing uh a reality show.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

And that's where that's where all that footage came from.

SPEAKER_00

I had six terabytes of never seen footage on my computer, my hard drive.

SPEAKER_04

And when they arrested me and they started this Tiger King shit, my husband Dylan at the time sold it to Netflix for two million dollars and left me here.

SPEAKER_00

Wow. And you haven't seen a dime from that? I haven't seen a dime from any of it, no. Wow. That's messed up. That is so obviously you saw the show and you and y they obviously painted you a certain way. So that that's obviously not you. So who is Joe Exotic to you? Like if you were to do this all over again, like what kind of who are you on on TV? Like who would you portray yourself to be?

SPEAKER_04

Well, what what I was most disappointed in everything was A, they made me out to be this mess head, okay? And I was the only one on the show with teeth wearing the clothes, it seemed like your wife had got naked. I mean, who who the hell interviews a hitman in a bathtub, you know what I'm saying? Okay. And you know, they didn't show any hardly anything of all of my charity work. I did so much charity for dying little kids, Christmas toys for kids, opening the zoo every holiday for free, Easter egg hunts for free, feeding all the homeless for free every holiday. They didn't show anything of who I was. They just showed all the crazy shit that was scripted for a reality show because they needed to I mean, because the producer Eric Good was working for PETA, okay? And their their goal was to make us all look bad shit crazy, pass the Big Cat Safety Act so nobody can own tigers, and that's exactly what they did.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, when you're out, do you feel like you're going back to your role as the Tiger King? Like d are will you have any involvement with animals again, anything like that?

SPEAKER_04

Uh you know, I'm I'm I've discussed this uh with with several different movie companies and you know, I've got fucking four different movie offers at the minute I'll get out of here. Um but I'm gonna I you know, I'm gonna come back as a tiger king, bigger and better because I think the show is the return of the Tiger King.

SPEAKER_00

Well yeah.

unknown

I I'm not gonna own any animals but you know, Steve Irwin.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I mean, I knew Steve Irwin and I'm gonna come back as the Tiger King, but in a Steve Irwin sense, because I'm gonna go around to all of these zoos and all of these these sanctuaries and I'm gonna show people how you interact with with animals, okay? And and I'm going to expose the the wrong and the right because what's happening now is not helping tigers.

SPEAKER_00

No. No, absolutely. And so I I think so many people just have so many wrong impressions of you. Like you're you're a philanthropist, you've you've helped animals, children. Like I I'm so excited for you to get out and show people who you actually are instead of you know this Netflix series, you know, painting you what it what's gonna get the views, which I mean it did get the views, but you know, I want people to see you for who you are.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Right, right.

SPEAKER_04

You know, the the big thing that I did out in the world was Operation Smile was my favorite charity. Okay, because I just don't think it's for two hundred and fifty dollars to fix a little kid's face so he's not bullied the rest of his life is is pretty cheap.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And now that I have a platform, when I get out of here, my my fur one of my first goals This call is from a federal prison. To get enough uh celebrities and people behind me to fix five thousand little kids' faces.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, Lenny and I will definitely assist with that. We'll get the word out. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely. Uh Joe, so Carol doesn't have the support you do. What's something you wish people understood about her?

unknown

About who?

SPEAKER_00

About Carol.

SPEAKER_04

Well, okay, you know, and and another thing, you know, I just go by what I get in letters. You know, people A, people think that I'm in here for animal abuse and I've never been accused or charged with animal abuse.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

unknown

Uh and and then people think that, oh, Joe was all about fame and money. Let me tell you something.

SPEAKER_04

My checkbook was thirteen thousand dollars overdrawn every day of my life trying to keep that suit going and those animals taken care of. And and my people all got a paycheck and a place to live for free. Carol had a hundred people doing her work for nothing while she took all the money.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Uh but the thing about Carol is that you know, it it could have went so much further in depth with Carol because Carol had seven nonprofits at one location. She was funneling tiger money and buying houses, rent houses, and then transferring 'em for ten dollars over to her other nonprofits, which and then having her daughter sign the the deeds, which uh you know, notarizing transfers and stuff, which was illegal. Uh Car Carol was a a a vr a really shady person, and that's why Carol is now, you know, she sold her I close for Tiger Place, sold her property for nineteen million dollars and she's living high alcohol while Joe's in prison.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Have you forgiven her?

SPEAKER_04

I mean, I I've forgiven everybody, but am I ever gonna forget? Absolutely not. You know? Uh but but you know, when you when you I spent two uh years and eight months in solitary confinement at first.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And when you sat there praying to God for him to stop your heart, yeah, you you find peace with a lot of people.

unknown

But am I ever gonna forget what they did to me? Absolutely not.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I don't blame you all.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And so I I was watching uh uh an interview that Jimmy Kimmel did, and uh I saw that he or not Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, he had David Spade on, and David Spade was saying that you would like him to play you in a movie. Is is that something that do you do you think he's the best candidate for that?

unknown

I actually I actually talked to David Spade on the phone while I I was on his podcast one day.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

And uh, you know, and he and he's he's still the Joe Dirt when he gets funny.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah he he's still got that Joe Dirt voice.

SPEAKER_04

But you know, when when uh like three or four years ago when they were thinking about making another show, they wanted Nicholas Cage to play me.

SPEAKER_05

Oh wow.

SPEAKER_04

I'm like, why would you want Nicholas Cage to play me? I'm like, if you want anybody to play Joe Exotic, uh get Joe Dirt, you know?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. What is if if so if let's say you get David Spade on there, what is one iconic line David Spade would have to use as Joe Exotic on in your movie?

unknown

Oh he he did it for me on the phone when we were when we were doing the interview, and he's got that bitch Carol Baskin down to a T.

SPEAKER_00

I love that. I love it. And I love I love Joe, like I love how that's it's that's such like a prominent thing for you. And I feel like that's like the a bitch Carol Baskin. Like that's got it. Yeah, you know, he talks out his nose and he's got it down to a T. That is so funny. Yeah, we'll we'll we're we'll be looking forward to that movie when it's when it's ready.

SPEAKER_02

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so I what what keeps you pushing? I know I know that you're you're in there and you know we're we're gonna spread the good word to get you out. What keeps you pushing now? Like what what are you looking forward to to to doing when you're out?

unknown

Uh you know, uh first of all I need to get some medical attention.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you know, uh but my my other goal, first goal is to go to Mexico and and make sure George is okay and get us a place to stay.

SPEAKER_04

And then I gotta work on getting him back legally. Yeah. But uh you know, that and and I want to I want to do some appearances and some interviews and you know, I've been offered a world tour to do a concert. Uh so there's a lot to do, but the first thing I want to do is set the record straight.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

You know, if I had access to to video uh Instagram and Facebook to where I could do live, uh that's why they keep me shut up because they don't want the the the record set straight.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Have you been able to I I know you're trying to get Trump to pardon you. Have you been able to get a hold of anybody in the administration or anybody close to Trump?

SPEAKER_04

Uh you know, I hired his lawyer, Peter Tickton, and Peter Ticton is working on my pardon. Uh but you know, it ta it takes money. And that's one thing I ain't got.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. This call is from a federal prison.

SPEAKER_04

I have uh a pardon uh website, Joe uh pardon joeexotic dot com uh with a petition on there because you know politicians are scared of numbers, you know. Uh but what kind of disappoints me the last time anybody sent me a screenshot of it, I had like thirty two thousand signatures on there. And out of thirty-four million people that watch Tiger King and claim that I got 'em through COVID, I can't believe that I can't get a hundred thousand people to sign a petition.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we we gotta get those numbers out there. We'll help you with that. Yeah, we'll we'll help you with that. This podcast will definitely help with that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

But uh the other the other thing that that can help me that helps pay the lawyers right now is the owner of Screw Magazine out of New York, uh got all of my my new stuff on Rook Roku TV.

SPEAKER_00

I've never Roku, yeah. Roko. And and so you can get Joe Exotic TV on Roku now. Oh, that's cool. Yeah, we'll we'll have to plug that here, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Three three thousand videos that nobody's ever seen of that zoo to show you the truth and the and the real story of how that zoo really operated.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. I heard somewhere, I don't know if this is a rumor or not, but there's a like a two million, I shouldn't say bounty, but two million dollar bounty on your freedom. Is that is that true?

SPEAKER_04

Okay, now, you know, uh uh uh God, what's his what's his uh I I can't believe I forgot.

SPEAKER_00

Uh the the guy that has Hustler University, uh um I is it some is it like Andrew Tate or something like that? Yeah, why I couldn't think of it. Okay, because you said Hustler okay, yeah, yeah, okay. I've talked to him several times on the phone. Uh but yeah, he publicly uh in Forbes magazine put a two million dollar reward to his back out of here. Yeah. That's crazy. And and no attorney is is l uh attorneys watching the show, guys. Two million dollars for you if you get Joe out of jail, like Yeah, I want that money up front.

SPEAKER_04

And he said that he won't do it until my my foot hits the sidewalk because you know, all all the other lawyers have done this but ripped me off.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah, no, they they can't get paid up front for that. That's crazy.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, he he he put that in Forbes in a in a public challenge for anybody. He would pay him two million bucks to get me out of here. Well, how how I can't believe Don Jr. or Eric J Eric Trump, you know? Yeah. I can't believe none of them have talked to dad and said, hey, whatever, you know.

SPEAKER_00

I wish we had like a connection of Trump. Isn't that right? Come on, like Tommy Vex, Tommy Vex, somebody yeah, we we we need like we we gotta rally a little harder for you, I think, Joe. So how how can your fans help you? Like, give us like three things we can do to number one, help you currently, like can can what can we do? Okay, pardon Joe Exotic.com, go to go to the the link where it has all the merchandise and buy some gear to to get my name out there.

SPEAKER_04

Um there's a donate button there too. Um that all goes to the lawyers. Um and and watch watch the new thing on Roku because that's all gonna help fund this fight to get me the hell out of here.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And how's your health doing?

unknown

I mean uh my cancer is back and and they found some in my left lung.

SPEAKER_04

But I'm gonna st I I refuse to do any more treatment because it's just you can't you can't live and puke and everything in here at the same time. I just can't do it. I've done it for a year. But hey girls, this is gonna hang up on us any second.

SPEAKER_00

So I love you. We love you, Joe.

SPEAKER_02

Oh well, there we go, guys. Well, that was quite a um uh conversation. What a story. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

It honestly it breaks my heart because you talk to him and he is just such a sweetheart. And so the websites, guys, everything will tag below if you guys could get some merch to help Joe donate, donate, watch the show even. Watch the show, watch the clips that he put out there that that the world should have seen instead of you know what is portrayed of him. He's he's such a wonderful person, and um, yeah, we're very, very grateful. Joe, thank you so much for taking the time.

SPEAKER_02

And yeah, thank you, Joe.

SPEAKER_00

Wow, and uh we gotta we gotta get Joe out. And I'm I'm gonna throw Joe the party when he's out.

SPEAKER_02

Cheers, guys. Cheers.
