Is Pretty Privilege Real?
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Does beauty open doors, create opportunities, and shape the way we're treated? Or is the idea of "pretty privilege" more complicated than people realize?
In this episode, we explore the reality of pretty privilege from career advancement and dating to confidence, social dynamics, and the unexpected challenges that can come with being perceived as attractive. We discuss whether beauty truly functions as a form of social currency, how appearance influences first impressions, and why conversations around attractiveness often spark strong opinions.
What do you think? Is pretty privilege real, or is there more to the story?
Welcome to Coffee and Cleavage. Welcome, guys. I'm Linny. And I'm Claudia. And hello, Gary.
SPEAKER_00Hey ladies. How are you doing?
SPEAKER_03Gary. We've had quite the morning. Yeah. Quite some technical difficulties.
SPEAKER_01We're all acting like we've never done this before.
SPEAKER_00You guys look great though. Thank you.
SPEAKER_03Oh, thank you.
SPEAKER_01Thank you. I forgot the cleavage part right now, but I brought the coffee. I have my cleavage.
SPEAKER_03Well, they look massive. I know. They're like honestly, they do. It's one of those tops, a nipple top.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Nipples and cleavage.
SPEAKER_01Nipples, nipples and cleavage. Yeah. After I'm going to go.
SPEAKER_03Nipples and coffee. Nipples and coffee.
SPEAKER_01Let's just cut this whole upstairs. Yeah. And this is and this is a really, really interesting topic. Um, considering how dumb we're being right now. Pretty privilege.
SPEAKER_03Pretty privilege. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Is it a thing?
SPEAKER_03I do think it is a thing.
SPEAKER_02Really?
SPEAKER_03Well, I mean it's uh it's real, but nobody really talks about it.
SPEAKER_01No. I think the only time pretty privilege is really discussed is when it's being used against a pretty girl. Well, you only have that because you're hot. Well, you only have that because the way you look. Well, you only have that because so-and-so. I think that's what's very, very difficult about it. And I think when you're two women like us, this is gonna be such a good rage bait. I already know it.
SPEAKER_02I love that.
SPEAKER_01Um when you look the way we do, we're immediately dumb, right? We're immediately not business women. We immediately have things handed to us. And I feel like that's like a constant thing we have to fight the rest of our lives to prove that you're able to be hot and smart at the same time.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Definitely underestimated for sure. 1,000%. Gary, have you ever dealt with like thinking a woman, well, she's hot, so she has it, she has it easy?
SPEAKER_00I mean, not necessarily, but I do think in a way, pretty women kind of do have it easier in a way.
SPEAKER_02Do they know?
SPEAKER_00I mean, do you think pretty women get things a lot easier where you can be like, so you get pulled over and you're really pretty and you're like kind of flirting, and the cops are like, oh, you're hot, compared to someone that's not as good looking. You think you're gonna get out of a ticket?
SPEAKER_01Well, I've not gotten out of tickets before, and I think, and I think he gave me a ticket to prove a point. Like, I know you're hot, but you're still getting a ticket. Yeah. Like, I think it's actually hindered me being hot in that situation.
SPEAKER_00It used to be like that, where it's like you could get pulled over and be really nice, and they're like, oh, like, and now it's like, oh, you're hot. Here's your ticket. Exactly. It's like, so it's changing for sure.
SPEAKER_01I think it works against you now. I think. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Have you felt that things are easier for you guys being, you know, beautiful women compared to, I mean, someone who's not a model, someone who doesn't care about their looks as much. Do you think it's harder for them compared to you guys?
SPEAKER_01Well, let me let me spin the question back at you. Do you know, and everybody watching, do you guys understand how much money it costs and effort and time in the gym, excuse me, to look like this? Like, this isn't just like an overnight thing. I think everybody's capable of being their own way of hot, right? So it's like, like, yeah, like you could say that, like, yeah, I have had things be easier for me in certain situations, but I just finished a eight-week recovery from surgery to be even prettier. Like, it also sucks being pretty.
SPEAKER_00Well, I think a lot of people, mostly men, yeah, forget about. I mean, it's like, oh wow, you're so beautiful. And it's like, yeah, some women are naturally beautiful, but as you get older, it's like you have to maintain, you have to do stuff. And it's like, I think it needs to get over that fact of girls doing, you know, what you guys do, like facials, like all the stuff where it's like, you don't need to do that. And it's like, I know guys being nice, but essentially it's like the maintenance never ends, and it only increases as we get older.
SPEAKER_03I know.
SPEAKER_00The things that you guys do, you know, to stay how you are, it's like it should be known, like where it's it's really, I mean, such dedication too, you know. I mean, it's not easy. I see some of the stuff you guys do, and I'm like, oh my god, like like the CO2 you like you did.
SPEAKER_01The lady, yeah, frying our faces off. Like, yeah. Yeah, yeah. It's awful.
SPEAKER_00Because I mean, most guys don't do anything like that. I mean, they're just like, oh, like, and they don't realize what women have to actually do.
SPEAKER_01And I love the comments of like guys that are like, you were hot before. You don't know me before. Yeah, I've always been doing this. So, like saying like before, there is no before because I started, I think the first time I did anything to my face or to my body, I was 21 and I got lip injections. And trust me, like people will be like, you don't need lip injections, you don't need them. If I could like insert a photo here, maybe I'll send it to Oscar of what I look like before lip injections. I look like Chester the Molester. Like I look like like give me like a little, like a little potato sack and I collect, you know, riddles to let you pass through the verge. Like that's what I look like before lip injections. So like it's hard. It's it's hard to like keep trying to be like a hot girl because no, I I I needed them. I think I needed them.
SPEAKER_00I think it's cool what you guys do because most women want to be like, no, like I don't do anything, you know.
SPEAKER_02It's like it's not being real about it. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00It's cool to see people that are real. It's like, you know, I've done this and done this, and it's like, you know, that's what you do. And I know guys are gonna be like, you don't need that. You don't need that. Because I mean, is it more weird to be like, I'm glad you did that? Because yeah, you needed it. So guys are gonna be like, you don't need that.
SPEAKER_03What I liked was I recently posted my before and after as CO2 just on a story. Yeah. And um uh this guy I know, he's married to one of my friends, and he's like, I love that you posted this because I think more women should should see the recovery that it only took you, you know, nine days and your skin going from the colour.
SPEAKER_00Well, and it's like if you want to do something, I mean, do it. Like you don't need to be like, oh, I don't want to do that because I don't want to get judged. It's like if you want to do it, it's gonna make you feel better. I mean, do it.
SPEAKER_01Tell me why, Gary, and this is like I see this all the time daily. Why do men claim they want natural girls? But if you look at who they're following on Instagram, it's Big Titty Bimbo69, me and Linny, uh every Playboy, playmate, every, you know, month and year, and like, why do men like these natural girls? But if you look at their followings, it says complete opposite.
SPEAKER_00I feel like men don't really realize what goes into staying like a beautiful woman. You know, it's almost like they think it's like you just wake up and like, oh, you have to do like this and this. And it's like, that's normal. I mean, I I don't know the whole stigma of wanting like, I want that natural girl that's just so hot naturally. Yeah. And it's like, I mean, I'm sure there's women like that, but I mean, a lot of women, it's you have to do things, especially as you get older. It's not like you're just, I don't do anything. I don't do botox, I don't do anything. It's just like the hate for everything. It's just, I don't know, I don't get it.
SPEAKER_01But is that like a like a gold star? Like, where's your gold star for like not not caring about yourself? And you can't even say, like, well, I'm natural, because it's like, okay, so you don't get your nails done. Cause that's you're you're playing with your image. You don't get your hair dyed. That's you're altering your eyebrows, your eyelashes, your do you not put makeup on? Like everything like that, you're you're messing with your appearance. So I I don't even believe fully natural exists unless you're you know natural is expensive.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, why do you guys think women, it's like almost like a one-up, like, I haven't done anything. Like, I'm all natural. And it's like, oh my God. Like, it's like a whole thing of like you to be like, yeah, you guys did that, but I'm all natural.
SPEAKER_01Right.
SPEAKER_00I don't it's like, okay, well, good for you.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I mean, and it's always the natural girls making fun of the enhanced girls, but it's never the enhanced girls making fun of the natural girls. Imagine that. Correct me if I'm wrong, but like I it's always the girls that don't get stuff done that have the most to say about us. But I would never look at a photo of a natural girl and be like, ooh, like you could really benefit from some like lip injections, babe, or like those lines in your forehead. Like, I would never do anything like that.
SPEAKER_03No, I couldn't even imagine doing that either. No, but that's so true. It's usually those type of women that are hating.
SPEAKER_00Well, wasn't it Paris Hilton that was like, I've never gotten Botox or anything?
SPEAKER_03And it's like, okay, girl.
SPEAKER_00It's like, why would okay, you just don't want to be real? I mean, and that makes girls be like, she doesn't do it. Like, okay, I'm never doing it too because she doesn't do it.
SPEAKER_01She doesn't do it. Yeah. So I that's where I think pretty punishment comes into the the picture here because there's privilege, but there's also punishment. You get punished for being honest, you get punished for speaking the truth. Like you get you get punished for doing the things that make you feel good. And like, I don't know about you, but like I don't do any of this shit for other people. No, I do it because I want to look a certain way. Absolutely. I got my shoulders etched to look like I work out 35 hours a day because I want to do that for myself. Like, I don't care what anybody else thinks about what I look like, and it that's that there's so much punishment for for me doing what I want to do to my own body. Like, I don't, I don't get that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I don't either.
SPEAKER_00I like the fact that you do stuff for yourself though. And it's not, I mean, I I like that, and I think more women doing that, being like, you know, I want to do this because it's gonna make me feel better. I mean, because everyone gets, especially with you what you guys do, you get judged every single thing you do. Yeah, you gain weight, you lose weight. It's like no matter what you do, you're gonna be judged. Your boobs are small, they're big. It's like you can't please everyone ever. So it's like, what point do you just go, okay, like I don't give a shit anymore? Yeah, you know.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, well, pretty privilege gets attention, but does it get you respect? I don't think so.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_01But there are people that like people that that I think are how do I say this without offending anybody? People that have common sense understand like just because you're pretty doesn't mean you're dumb, doesn't mean you don't deserve respect. And I I think that's most of the world. They immediately see you're you're pretty, so that means I have to be rude to you to like humble you a little. Like people love humbling me. And it's like, I I don't need to be humble. Like, no, I know where I've come from, like I know like what I used to look like. Like, trust me, I understand that. Like, I would bet if I had to jot it down on a pen and paper, I've probably put over $250,000 into my appearance since I've started all these procedures and light bows and botoxes and lasers. I I would bet it's at $250. That to me, I'm showing myself respect. Like I'm taking care of myself. And if you don't want to respect yourself like that, if you respect yourself differently, that's fine. Like, but you can't point fingers at somebody when your own hands are dirty. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Do you think the whole pretty privilege thing? People don't like that essentially because they think everything for someone pretty is easy. Yeah. Everything. It's like everything for you is easy. And it's like you make money easy, like you meet people easy. Like you can go on a dating site and just be like, okay, like you know, guys are like, oh my god, I'm just gonna swipe. Like you guys would just be like, swipe once, match. Yeah. And it's just easy. Yeah. So I mean, people kind of hate that.
SPEAKER_01I actually have girlfriends that have been on dating sites that the dating site will like take their pages down because they think they're fake. And it's actually them just trying to be hot girls looking for dates, and like Tinder would be like, This is a fake profile. It's like, why? Because she's hot, like she's not allowed to date on an app because she's hot. Like, that's crazy to me. Or like a Raya, is that what it's called? That like you have to like look a certain way. It's like a dating app, or like you need to be like a certain status, and like you have to be like um people somebody has to like refer you in to Raya. They look at like what you look like, like that's that's privilege.
SPEAKER_00What about pretty privilege for different hair colors? I mean, if you guys were both brunettes, how differently do you think your lives would would be, and how differently do you think people would treat you?
SPEAKER_03We have great tits though. Yeah, that's true. But you know, like what you're saying, but if we were brunette with great tits, you know? Yeah, it's I get what you're saying.
SPEAKER_00People would think you guys are like, Well, you're so like naturally blondes.
SPEAKER_03Do get more hated for sure. Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, because it's I mean, it's been like that forever, like dumb blonde jokes. Like blondes are just like dumb.
SPEAKER_01We're dumb, yeah. Yeah, we're little golden retrievers.
SPEAKER_00And it's like blondes big boobs, even more. It's like, oh my god. But if you guys were Burnett, it would be like, oh wow, like they're so naturally beautiful. It's like I've seen girls like that where it's like they're they have huge lips, and it's like, guys, I'm like, your lips are so amazing. And she'll be like, yeah, it's lip injections. Like, what the fuck? But if a blonde does it, it's yeah, you're fake as fuck.
SPEAKER_01You're fake, yeah. Yeah, yeah, that's true. Yeah, it's absolutely true. And like we get so judged by especially, you know, these online guys for doing all these procedures. But again, like if you look at like their following, it's it's who they're like rewarding. Like it's the look that they reward. They just hate everything leading up to it, which is so crazy. Like, you love the look, but you hate that I'm doing the surgery. So, like, which which one is it?
SPEAKER_00Like, it's like the guys that follow you and then talk shit. Like your lips look so it's like you follow. Well, why are you following me then? I'm confused. You follow me, but you're like, you're saying my boobs are huge or my like so fake.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, so fake. Well, why are you following me then? Yeah, it's so strange. Yeah. I think one attention.
SPEAKER_01I think there is privilege, and I think I think there's more punishment than there is there is privilege. Yeah, honestly. And yeah, and and I've I've heard that so many times from people. Well, you wouldn't know Claudia, because like, you know, your life is on easy street. What?
SPEAKER_00So pretty privilege, I mean it wouldn't be pretty, but like just go for guys too. Like, I know I wouldn't be pretty privilege, but like the same situation, like good looking, I guess like in shape guys compared to not good looking guys. You think like they get treated differently?
SPEAKER_01I think for men it's financial privilege. If you make a certain amount of money, you get treated differently by men and by women. Yeah. Because women throw themselves at you, right? Guys want to hang out with you because you know, bros will be bros. So I think for men, I don't know if it's like a looks thing for men. I think it's a financial thing for sure.
SPEAKER_03I agree because I feel like it doesn't really matter what they look like in that case.
SPEAKER_01No, because some of these guys are because that's what I'm going with.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01You know, like we have we we know people, we won't name names that are with much older gentlemen and they look like raisins, but you guys know who I'm talking about.
SPEAKER_02But but he has money.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02He's got lots of it. That's all I'll say.
SPEAKER_03Oh, you're right. So yeah, I don't think you have to be a pretty boy.
SPEAKER_02Just a lot of money.
SPEAKER_01Just have a lot of money. You don't have to be hot, just be really rich. Sorry, guys.
SPEAKER_03Are women harsher to women who are attractive or men more harsh?
unknownDo you think?
SPEAKER_00Are men more harsh to women?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Women are harsher. Going back to I guess the comments that we get, you know. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But don't you guys have a lot of women that are like, you girls are so beautiful. Like, what did you do? Like, and I think when you guys show what you do, I think that relates so much more to women because they're like, wow, you're actually showing what you're doing. I think that's really cool. I like that because you know, these girls are just like, no, babe, I've done nothing. I'm just like, I don't know. I've never done anything for my body. It's just natural like that. It's like fucking okay. You can just be straight up.
SPEAKER_01I think since I started really showing everybody everything I do online, like, you know, when I got my surgery, like I did like a recovery chronicles and I like documented every day for like a week, like how it's looking, how I'm, you know, progressing, like looking like shit to all the way through day seven. And I think the more open I am about everything I get done, the more respect I get from women. And I feel like the more open I am from to men, the more hate I get from men. Because they almost feel like, and they always throw the financial aspect of it at me. Like, what did that cost you? Why does it matter what it cost me?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Like, what if I got it for free? Do you still hate it? Is it okay now? Because I didn't spend $10,000 on this lipo. I spent two. Like, like, why does that matter to you? Um, so I think I think both.
SPEAKER_03I'm hating on the pretty privilege aspect. Right. Right.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna see what my pretty privilege gets me today. Nothing today. It's done nothing for me today. I need to step up my game.
SPEAKER_03Let's uh let's just you know exist. Take your uh your car for a spin. Oh yeah. See how fast we can take it.
SPEAKER_02Oh, easily. Easily over.
SPEAKER_00Easily got pulled over in your car, you don't think you could get out of a ticket? And that happens on films. We were just like, I mean, the cop could just be a dick and be like, Yeah, here's your ticket and you can pay for it.
SPEAKER_01Like honestly, I would probably be like, Sir, this is a Lamborghini. It doesn't know how to go slow. Like, I don't know like what would you like to do.
SPEAKER_03How to get out of it though. Tell me of a C CW. You have one, right? Yeah, yeah. Yeah. I've learned that in my C CW class. If you tell them, officer, I have a permit, I'm armed. What would you like me to do?
SPEAKER_01Interesting. Even if the gun's not on you.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you can tell them that. Because they can when they pull up your information, yeah, they'll see it on there.
SPEAKER_01Interesting.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I think at least.
SPEAKER_02Officers, if you're watching, let us know if that gets us on a ticket.
SPEAKER_01Okay, well, let us know, I guess, in the comments, guys. Is pretty pliv pr pretty privileged a thing. Um, have you been a victim of it? Let us know.
SPEAKER_03And um please make sure to like this episode.
SPEAKER_02Comment, subscribe, and please subscribe, guys.
SPEAKER_03Yes, please do. It means a lot to us. Yeah,
